How to install a winch kit

My cousin gave me his extra Mad Dog winch kit but I have no idea how I can install it in my 2020 X2. He was doing mods with his own UTV that's why he got a spare but he didn't keep the package and assured me nothing's missing or replaced. Anyone has ideas where to wire it or where I can maybe get a tutorial?

Nice score on the winch kit! For wiring, check behind the front grill or near the battery tray. some X2s have spots for winch installs. You might find some tutorials on YouTube so you can watch them first before diving into the wires. Good luck!

There should be a PDF version of the Mad Dog winch installation manual available online!
Search for it using the specific model number of the winch you got.
That might also help to check if you got the complete kit.
You'll want to make sure you have everything before you start the install!

You'd definitely want to find a good wiring diagram for your 2020 X2 since wiring a winch can be a bit tricky if you haven't done it before. Have you tried to see if your X2 has the pre-wired winch plug near the front frame? It'll save you a lot of hassle. If not, then maybe grab a diagram to confirm your grounds before anything big?

It's a 2020 mode, so it has the accessory plug behind the firewall. Now comes the tricky part. The plug is standard Yamaha, meaning for any other brand you'd need an adapter, which isn't always available. If all else fails, you might need to splice a few wires to get it to work and for this you'll need a diagram just in case.
