Mounting LED whips with soft cover & light bar

I installed the factory soft cover with SuperATV folding windshield and I'm planning to add a 44" light bar and LED whips, but can't mount on the roll cage. Any tips for mounting the whips on the box without affecting dumping, and should I go with 3 or 4 footers?

It is definitely more about the fun and visibility!! Ive heard some areas require flags on UTVs, and using whips is a pretty flashy way to check that box. I was out with a big group in the woods last weekend, and when night fell, the leader lit up his whips. It made it so much easier to keep track of the group, plus they were great for lighting up the area when we stopped for a break. It kind of turns your ride into a trail party with all those lights flashing

Totally! It's all about having fun and actually being able to use the thing. Those whips are great when we're all riding together at night. You can actually see your buddies in the dark or when it's dusty. And they just look cool. By the way, are you using whips with just one color, or the ones that change colors? I want to know which ones last longer when you're out on bumpy trails

I hear you, those whips are great for night rides and rough trails. I'm also curious, are you using solid colors or the ones that change colors? Just wondering which one lasts longer with all the bumps.

The best spot is usually on the top edge of the cargo box/bed rails, near the rear corners. Some aftermarket companies make specific bed rail clamps or whip mounts" that bolt directly to the top edge of the bed, allowing the whip to clear the cab when dumping

It's like turning your rig into a rolling beacon, I'm leaning toward 4-footers now just for that extra pop. Just need to figure out a mount that won't block the dump bed.

I went with color-changing onesm I figured if I'm adding lights, might as well go full show. But yeah, curious too if solid-color ones hold up better long-term, especially with all the bouncing and flexing.

I'm thinking of running separate wiring for the whips, I don't want to overload the circuit or deal with syncing issues, plus it gives me more control if I want to run them independently.

Yeah, 3-footers still do a pretty good job, especially if you're mostly trail riding or in groups. They're less likely to hit branches too, but if you're going for max visibility, 4-footers definitely stand out more.
