New wheels now lug nuts keep backing off

Okay, so I slapped some fresh wheels on my Wolverine, made sure to torque those lug nuts down tight (54 lb-ft, just like the manual said). Hit the trails, and bam, lug nuts are loose already! I tightened them up again, went for a quick spin, and they're loose AGAIN. Is it just these wheels don't get along with my ride, or am I missing something obvious here?

@dirtypathpilot1022 are you sure you're using the correct type of lug nuts for your new wheels, man?
Different wheels (especially aftermarket vs. OEM) can require different lug nut seats. you know, like conical/tapered, spherical/ball, or flat/mag. If your lug nuts aren't matching the wheel's seat, they'll never stay tight

Check that the wheel and hub surfaces are clean, any dirt or corrosion can keep them from fully clamping, then make sure the lug nuts match the wheel type like @qu13tmonday said

Did you recheck that the wheel seats actually match your Wolverine's hub design, or could it be a case of aftermarket rims needing different lug nuts or a hub-centric ring to stay tight?
