Yamaha OEM flip windshield

Installed the Yamaha OEM flip windshield just now, piece of cake, but right at the end, I noticed the driver-side flip bracket was busted straight out of the box. Total bummer. Has anyone else had this happen? Hoping the dealer can send a replacement bracket when I call tomorrow.

Super frustrating to discover a QC issue at the very last step. The dealer should be able to order just the replacement bracket for you using the part number from the installation manual's diagram. Just out of curiosity was the failure point on a plastic part of the bracket or on the metal hinge?

Nope, I haven't had that happen with Yamaha OEM, but I've had it with other parts. The dealer should absolutely send you a replacement bracket under warranty. It's clearly a defective on arrival part

Yamaha's QC on their OEM accessories has slipped. Between warped windshields and broken brackets, people keep defending "bad luck" when it's likely just mediocre factory checks, demand the replacement, don't let them brush you off.

The break happened on the plastic part of the bracket, which was a bit disappointing. Have you seen if the replacement plastic brackets hold up better, or do people usually reinforce them somehow?

I thought the same, yeah hopefully. It def is under warranty

@Candance
I'll definitely push for a proper replacement and not let it slide . Have you had to deal with any issues like this firsthand, or seen others get a solid resolution from Yamaha?
