EMP bumper remakes

Anybody else think their EMP bumpers could have been a lot better? Quality is superb except for one tiny detail, powder coating. I don't think they did a pretty good job in polishing it. Sharp edges, hooks rusting too soon, last time I used a pressure washer to clean it, it blew most of the powder coat off in most areas.

So I thought of doing a little something something to it. Started with some Line X spraying, some Rustoleum 2000 degree primer on some metals, and some rust sanding.. So far I'm very happy with whatever the heck Im doing. I'm just letting my intuition lead the way. Hopefully it'll turn okay as soon as I decide I'm done. Took time to rest and think about my next steps, will update asap.

The powder coating issue is such a letdown, especially with the quality everywhere else

EMP bumpers are definitely tough, but I've found that their powder coating isn't always the best. Applying Line-X on a well-prepped surface is a great solution. That Rustoleum 2000° primer you mentioned is also a smart choice. Just keep sanding away the rust, and it should last a lot longer. Don't forget to share the final result

Yeah, EMP really does create some top-notch gear. But I totally see what you mean about their coating, it can be a bit unpredictable at times. I'm really loving the idea of going with Line-X instead. That combination sounds like it'd be super durable and stand the test of time
